One of the first folks I ran into at this year’s Turner Classic Movies Classic Film Festival (the TCMFF) was Lynn Powell Dougherty who has her own website dedicated to the classics: ClassicMovieFavorites.com.
We met face to face for the first time at the press conference with TCM host Robert Osborne. It was held in the gorgeous banquet hall of the Roosevelt Hotel. It’s where they held the very first Academy Award ceremony and is the site of Club TCM during the festival. Not only was Lynn incredibly friendly but it turns out she’s got a great site full of film recommendations and bios on some of the most popular films and actors of years gone by.
I always love discovering other classic film fans and new sites dedicated to a better age of the silver screen, so we got a long great. Which is a good thing since we ended up being placed next to each other on the red carpet. In fact she took one of my favorite post event pics of me and my photographer.
